Weekend Bits:
I slept terribly on Thursday night, so I ended up taking a sick day from work to rest. Colin was home, so I went with him and Danette on some errands. Afterward, I took a nap, then caught a Nats game in the evening with the family.
The rest of the weekend has been quiet: I caught up on some exercise and sleep, watched some Olympics, did some reading, and got my nose back into some creative stuff after a long layoff.
Speaking of sleep – I’m looking into sleep tracking with my apple watch. I’ve normally charged it overnight but decided to give the tools in Apple Health a chance to help me see if I can make improvements. I’ve avoided this in the past (and all sleep hygiene really) as I expect it will tell me to go to bed earlier and I don’t really want to, lol. I’ll report back later.
Watching
- House of Dragons (Max)- Marcus Danette and I are watching this together. Looking forward to more dragons in the Season 2 Finale tonight.
- Sugar (Apple+). Colin Farrell. Noir. Private Investigator in LA. Though 2 episodes. Good so far.
Reading
- North Woods, by Daniel Mason – listening actually on Spotify – tells the story of a piece of land in Massachusetts over the years from the revolutionary war to present day. Great audio book read by different narrators.
- A Sand County Almanac, by Aldo Leopold- Essays. Written in the 1930s. Leopold’s observations of nature on his Wisconsin farm.
