Last week I was talking about the wasted space on the east end of the shed. I got myself all geeked up about clearing everything out and even building a new couch out of plywood (or something). Then as it happens, Danette dragged me out to Costco on Saturday morning and boom! There was a perfect little couch there of the perfect size so, I seized the opportunity and picked it up. Looking forward to the naps.

Other stuff I got into this week:
- Washington Wizards. Caught the Warriors Wizards game with my little bro on MLK. This was an afternoon game so I decided I wasn’t going to drink….welllll…2 beers at a bar before the game and then a giant 23 oz can and it was the most alcohol I’ve had at a Wiz game this year. We ended up having a blast. Almost everyone around us were Warriors fans so we had fun winding up the kids in front of us, loudly calling Steph Curry, “Jeff Curry” like we had never heard of him. It was funny. Wiz lost but it was cool to see “Jeff” take over in person and we were cracking up most of the game.
- Jim Gaffigan – For Christmas, Danette got tickets for us to see Gaffigan in Baltimore on Saturday. no pics(!!) but it was cool to see him. Driving home from Baltimore at midnight was a little rough for me but Danette fell asleep in the car and I got to listen to my Leeds United Podcasts. all good.
- Vinland Saga (netflix) This is the anime adaptation of the amazing manga by Makoto Yukimura which tells the story of Thorfinn Karlsefni – who along with Leif Erickson, was one of the first Icelandic settlers of “Vinland” (North America). The manga is fantastic – Yukimura is one of my favorite Manga artists – and there are 12 huge volumes available in english. The anime is ok but has to leave a lot out. It’s great if you’ve read the books, but I’m not sure what people would think who have never read it. (Season 1 has a 93% on Rotten tomatoes though so I guess people are enjoying it)
- Succession (HBO) finally got caught up on this show about insane rich people with gigantic daddy issues. Really good – looking forward to season 4.
- Still spending most of my creative time working on my D&D campaign. My buddy Adam is working on some artwork for the logo – can’t wait to see what he comes up with.
Yearly goals update: Trying to stay honest here but not overwhelm myself or obsess too hard. I’ll do these at the start of each month.
